Peep Peterson is the New Leader of Estonian Trade Unions

Today the chairman of Estonian Transport and Road Workers' Trade Union Peep Peterson was elected to be chairman of Estonian Trade Union Confederation. His first day on the new position is March 4.

Peterson collected 23 votes against his opponent Tiia E. Tammeleht's 16. Two election ballots were accounted as void.

"We will have a really busy year," said Peterson referring to the reform of collective work relations legislation where all the strike, conciliation and collective bargaining laws will be overlooked. "We need a good team to influence this processes in a well-timed and peaceful manner," Peterson added.
